Spring Carnival provides perfect opportunity for a day of family fun

Spring Carnival provides perfect opportunity for a day of family funLooking to turn a boring Saturday into a day of family fun?  Check out the Campus Community School Spring Carnival on May 9, 2015 in Dover.

Dozens of fun festivities will be offered, including games, vendors, music, animals, and food.  Popular booths in the past have included the ping-pong ball toss, duck pond game, face painting stand, and dunk tank attraction.  New festivities include pony rides, a bicycle rodeo, a mini-golf course, and additional inflatables.

Don’t forget about Mother’s Day on Sunday. Plant a flower in the Campus Community School Garden and give Mom a gift that lasts.

The event is a major fundraiser for a local school and 100% of the proceeds from Carnival will go toward educational programs for Campus Community School students.

Plan to spend the day at Campus Community School, 350 Pear Street, Dover, Delaware, Saturday, May 9, from 10 am to 2 pm.

University of Delaware presents Commitment to Delawareans to CCS

Campus Community School welcomed the University of DelawareCampus Community School welcomed the University of Delaware to speak about college readiness and the pathway to college through their Commitment to Delawareans presentation.

Dr. Terry Whittaker, Associate Director of Admissions, and Mr. Lalu John, Junior Student, Class of 2016, Business and Finance Major, spoke with 8th grade students on Thursday, April 23, 2015, on what it takes to become a Blue Hen College student with the University of Delaware.

The interactive discussion and DVD presentation provided information on becoming successful students in high school and an “academic roadmap" to a University of Delaware education.

Students were given handouts and a Commitment to Delawareans backpack with the wealth of information provided at the presentation, including tips for making classes count, study skills and preparing for college. They also focused on informing parents of college ambition and beginning to save for their future education.
