Cougars for a Cause 5K Run Walk benefits Ben Knapp medical fund

Cougars for a Cause 5K Run Walk benefits Ben Knapp medical fundThe 5th Annual “Cougars for a Cause” 5K Run/Walk is being organized by staff and students at Campus Community School (CCS) to benefit Ben Knapp’s medical fund.

Ben Knapp was a student at Campus Community Elementary/Middle School. In October of 2011, while he was a junior at Dover High School, Ben went into cardiac arrest and was left with a life altering brain injury that took his vision, his ability to talk and greatly limited his mobility and muscle control. For the last three years he has travelled to A.I DuPont Children’s Hospital to receive intensive daily therapies to regain basic life functions. In spite of his physical limitations, Ben has continued his academic studies at Dover High School and will receive his diploma in June 2015, with high honors in Physical Science.

Ben is an inspiration to everyone. His uplifting spirit, unyielding determination and selfless caring for others have impacted every life he has touched.

Ben's sister Ellie attended Campus Community School (CCS) through 8th grade and his sister Emma is currently in 5th grade at CCS. Ben’s parents are Chip and Cindy Knapp.

All levels of sponsorship are greatly appreciated and all proceeds from the race will go to the Knapp family. For more information contact Lisa Weis -
